TalkTalk's Fast Broadband
This package is TalkTalk's standard copper ADSL and provides average download speeds of 11 Mbps, which will be suitable for small households that don't have many devices. Fast Broadband is perfect for browsing the internet daily as well as streaming occasionally.
For general day-to-day browsing and casual streaming, there are two fast fibre options - both with a Wi-Fi Hub Black that's easy to set up by yourself:
Fibre 35
This is TalkTalk's first fibre broadband option and provides its customers with average speeds of 38Mbps which is more than three times faster than TalkTalk's standard copper ADSL package. Fibre 35 is ideal for those who like to stream, play video games online and is also a viable package for those who need to download large files.
Fibre 65
Fibre 65 is the second fast fibre option which delivers average download speeds of 67Mbps and is perfect for families with multiple devices that are likely to be used at the same time. Busier households with this package will be able to use the internet as they wish, without any slowdown.
For internet-hungry households, TalkTalk has some ultrafast fibre deals that come with its award-winning Wi-Fi hub:
Fibre 150 Ultrafast
This broadband package will provide its customers with average download speeds of 145Mbps and upload speeds of 25Mbps which would deem to be beneficial for those who are gamers or streamers.
Fibre 250 Ultrafast
With average download speeds of 290Mbps, TalkTalk claims that their ultrafast broadband is essential for super busy households that use more than 10 devices simultaneously.
At the very top of the range, TalkTalk provides its customers with Full Fibre broadband. With the use of 'Fibre to the premises' (FTTP) technology, full fibre connection can be directed straight to your home.
Fibre 150 - Full Fibre
Fibre 150 uses advanced FTTP technology and allows average speeds of 147Mbps to be directed straight to your home, meaning that no copper cables will be involved in the provision of broadband to your home. High download speeds like the one listed in this package are great for larger households that indulge in heavy usage of the internet. This deal also includes a Next-Gen Amazon eero 6 router.
Fibre 500 - Full Fibre
With lightning fast download speeds of 506Mbps, as well as average upload speeds of 71Mbps. The Fibre 500 package is great for those who desire some of the fastest internet speeds around, especially those who enjoy streaming and playing video games. Fibre 500 also includes an Amazon eero Pro 6 mesh system.
Future Fibre
TalkTalk is rolling out its Future Fibre broadband package, using what they claim as the UK's fastest, most reliable broadband technology. With speeds right up to 900Mbps, it's 23x faster than TalkTalk's standard fibre package.
All of TalkTalk's Future Fibre plans are powered by Amazon's award-winning eero with the latest in Wi-Fi 6 technology. This combines the benefits of game-changing Wi-Fi 6 technology with a 100% full fibre-to-the-property connection, to give you enhanced speed and reliability. If you sign up for the fastest Fibre 900 plan, you'll receive two Eero 6 Pro routers that can be used together in mesh formation.
This broadband package is currently available in around 6 million UK homes. TalkTalk's current ambition is to reach 25 million homes with its FTTP technology by December 2026.
Why Pick TalkTalk Broadband?
Simple Installation Process
Joining TalkTalk is incredibly simple, and once you've signed up, they aim to get everything up and running quickly. Your actual activation date will depend on whether your existing line can be used or if your service requires a new line installation. Once your line is ready, all you need to do is connect your router. Simply plug it in, switch it on and away you go.
Relatively Cheap Packages
One of the main reasons to consider TalkTalk is that it's usually relatively cheap compared to the majority of its competitors. If you're looking for the cheapest broadband prices or have a limited budget, TalkTalk is one of the best internet speed providers to go for.
Wide Range of Availability
TalkTalk is available everywhere and TalkTalk's fibre broadband is currently available in more than 90% of UK homes. However, TalkTalk's Future Fibre, with up to both 500Mbps and 900Mbps packages, is not available everywhere in the UK yet. It is unlikely you will be able to get it at this current time, but by December 2026 the firm aims to have its fibre-to-the-property broadband in over 25 million homes.
Improved Customer Service
TalkTalk has been criticised over the years for its poor customer service but it seems like the company is experiencing vast improvements in this aspect. TalkTalk takes pride in being the bronze prize winner of the 2021 Customer Experience Awards.
